Lucca Mill donates paper to support arts charity Venti d’Arte

DS Smith’s paper mill in Lucca, Italy, has donated its paper to support a local arts charity.

Venti d’Arte is a cultural association which encourages young children around Lucca to express themselves artistically. It does so through art labs and workshops within art shows, cultural centres, and libraries.

Venti d’Arte wants to bring local children closer to art and its great masters, encouraging them to experiment with various techniques as a way of learning about beauty, respect for Italian cultural heritage, and allowing them to observe the world through different eyes. Each session starts with a story about an artist, and then the children are given the opportunity to become artists themselves, with various artistic techniques.

In this part of the workshop, paper becomes testimony of their thoughts, emotions and learnings.

DS Smith Lucca is delighted to be providing white liner to local children so that they can explore their artistic sides for a day.
