DS Smith thanks its customer L’Oréal for hand sanitiser gel donation
As a symbol of the two companies’ close partnership, L’Oréal has donated hand sanitiser gel to DS Smith employees in France.
During the Covid-19 pandemic and as part of a European solidarity plan, L'Oréal reorganised its plants to produce hand sanitiser gel. This action was aimed at supporting workers who played a key role in the health sector and the essential business supply. Tthe products were delivered free of charge to the French authorities and to the public hospitals in Paris (AP-HP). DS Smith Packaging France also benefited from this operation with a donation of three palettes of hydroalcoholic gel, containing 20,160 30ml tubes.
From the L'Oréal Ormes plant in Loiret, which employs 300 people and producesone million products per day, the plant director Mathilde Pougnant, explained: " This initiative aligns with our Group's values. We are a leader in the cosmetics sector, we have a deep knowledge of our raw materials and each of our employees has been trained on its use. It has been our responsibility to contribute with our capabilities to the protection of our own people’s well-being as well as that of our strategic partners, such as DS Smith.”
Thibault Laumonier, Managing Director of DS Smith France adds: “We have really appreciated this gesture from our Pan-European customer L’Oréal. In the same way, DS Smith has been very active with donations during the Covid-19 pandemic, in order to help both the communities where it operates and essential businesses. The donation that we have received from our customer L’Oréal represents a further confirmation of our long-lasting business relationship, our shared values, and our involvement in corporate social responsibility actions.”
