Further to the announcement made on 25 June 2009,DS Smith Plcconfirms that Jonathan Nicholls has today joined the Board as a non-Executive Director.

As required by the Listing Rules, it is confirmed that there are nochanges to thedetailsdisclosed on 25 June 2009pursuant to LR 9.6.13 R (1) to (6)except that Mr Nicholls was appointed as a non-Executive Director of Great Portland Estates plc with effect from 10July 2009 and as a non-Executive Director of SIG plc with effect from 6 November 2009. Mr Nicholls holds19,130shares in the Company.
