Season’s greetings from DS Smith support SOS Children’s Villages.

SOS Children is a global charity and has for over 60 years been supporting children, families and their communities to flourish

Founded in 1949, SOS Children's Village provide long-term support to children who had lost their homes or families in the Second World War. Since then they continued this work worldwide, always in respect of the religions and cultures of the local community. They uphold the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, and work to defend these rights around the world.

Across the world, they try to achieve this in two ways. Firstly, they prevent children ending up alone, abandoned or in institutions; which they do through community-based programmes that support families. Secondly, for lone children who cannot live with their family, they provide a loving home in an SOS Children's Village. They also provide quality education and healthcare in these communities.

SOS Children believes every child should grow up in a caring family environment.

In 125 countries, they provide long-term care for more than 62,000 children in 545 SOS Children's Villages and globally, over 130,000 children attend SOS Nurseries and Schools. Through their established local networks they are well placed to help children and families during emergencies such as the Pakistan earthquake or Philippines aid relief.

www.soschildrensvillages.org.uk is the UK centre for the work of SOS Children’s Villages, an international, non-governmental development organisation, with registered charity number 1069204.

The development of the e-card was done by SOS Children’s Villages partners in Belgium and the development fee will be forwarded to the entire organisation.

Warm wishes for 2014!
