DS Smith won WorldStar 2013

DS Smith took home the the winning design for Package and Transportation package for “Turvakerroin Oma” which is a personal alarm for consumers.

The same design has been awarded with a Scanstar previously in this year. Its packaging and transportation package were designed in Finland. Designers Jyrki Valkama and Ville Kinanen had an excellent co-operation with the graphical designer Maarit Mäkinen. 

The packaging itself doesn’t take much space and can be used in varied retail environments. The uncoated liner and minimal waste in the manufacturing process makes this packaging ecological.  

A display was designed later to promote the product. The display plays on the strengths of the packaging being light-weight and offering maximum visibility. It is equipped with a lid, the display also functions as a transport packaging.
