Packaging solution for Technivorm coffee machines: Moccamaster – full-steam ahead to real coffee pleasure

Technivorm has been able to increase the production volume of its Moccamaster coffee machines by up to 25 per cent thanks to the new packaging system by DS Smith and the connected rationalised packaging process. At the same time, the transport protection was significantly increased and therefore the complaint rate due to damage was reduced to below 1 per cent.

Challenge:

Technivorm needed packaging that would allow for an increase in production value and provide effective protection.

Our Approach:

The solution developed by DS Smith made of outer packaging and matching inlays can be set up and fitted with just a few steps. The employees only have to position the filter coffee machines in the intended punch-outs of the inlays supplied laying flat, fold up the side walls and fix the nose into the locking device. Cleverly positioned straps save material and ensure the required stability during transportation. In order to be able to easily package the equipped inlays, cleverly positioned openings serve as handles. A recessed handle in the lid of the packaging ensures that the end consumer can comfortably transport the coffee machine home.
